    About Antonio E.

I am a professional double bassist, playing classical orchestra and chamber music for 10+ years. I have my Bachelors of music from the Cleveland Institute of Music, and Masters of Music from Northwestern University, both in double bass performance. Playing an instrument can be as natural as breathing, and my goal in teaching is to impart this to my students with the double bass. I believe in starting with a solid technical foundation, and accounting for each student's unique body and hand shapes with subtle adjustments can lead to staggering results. As a teacher, I have worked with a range of students from young beginners starting out, to college level lessons and masterclasses. I can help students in school with their ensemble playing as well as their solo endeavors, and continue motivated students into their collegiate playing. I have a foundation in jazz playing as well, and can give early learners a running start with big band and jazz combo ensembles. My music has brought me all around the United States, performing with the Cleveland Orchestra, Seattle Symphony, and Utah Symphony among others, grand experiences with the Aspen, Chautauqua, and Spoleto USA Music Festivals, and abroad with orchestras in Japan and Norway. Music is one of the most beautiful and fundamental forms of expression we have as people, and nothing brings me greater joy than to help cultivate the music inside an eager mind. I look forward to meeting you and finding your musical path together!
