    About Anton N.

My name is Anton Nelson. I am currently a student at Shenandoah Conservatory, studying under Dr. John O’Conor for a bachelor degree in piano performance. Before Shenandoah Conservatory, I received much instruction from Dr. Edvinas Minkstimas, a Juilliard graduate, at the Washington Conservatory of Music. I have also had private instruction with Tatiana Ioudenitch, and Professor Steven Spooner from the University of Kansas. I’ve also received masterclasses from world renowned pianists such as Orion Weiss and Brian Ganz at The Music Center at Strathmore. I have also won numerous awards for my piano skills, most notably: • 1st prize in the 5th Piano Festival at the Washington Conservatory of Music. The judges Bradford Gowen and Jose Ramos-Santana, for the first time in the history of the festival, awarded me the Certificate of Merit. • 1st prize in solo category and 3rd prize in concerto category at the “Music Without Limits” competition in Lithuania, which was also my first orchestral debut. • 1st prize at the George Mason University Music Competition • The Luciana Montanari-Mendola Award presented by The Italian Cultural Society of Washington D.C. I have also performed numerous times with orchestra, including the Symphony Orchestra of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, conducted by maestro Laurynas Sadauskas, and Washington Conservatory Orchestra, conducted by Scott Wood. I have dedicated my life to the piano, and now, I would like to share my knowledge and love for music with others, of all ages and skill levels. I believe that it is important for me to share what I know about the art of piano performance to ensure that this skill is passed on to future generations, regardless if it is for simple personal enjoyment, or a competitive professional pursuit of mastery of the skill. Thank you for your attention.
