Playing the viola is unique - we don't play violin and we don't play cello, and although there are techniques we can learn from both, our instrument requires a very special technique and style that is all its own. As a professional teacher and international performer for over 20 years, my goal has always been to impart the joy and exhilaration that comes from playing and studying music, at any level. Whether an adult amateur looking to explore the instrument for the first time, or a student seeking extra assistance preparing for auditions, my experience can help provide the insight necessary for a rewarding and enjoyable journey. I am an internationally performing freelance professional violist with over 20 years concert and teaching experience. I work primarily as an orchestral principal and chamber musician. I studied at Yale University and the Yale School of Music, and attended Verbier, Schleswig-Holstein, Tanglewood, Round Top, Luzern, and Aspen Summer Festivals as a student, as well as several masterclasses in the US and Europe. My studies concluded as a Fellow in the New World Symphony in Miami.
