Broadway Singing with Anna K.

I have been singing since childhood, and songwriting and performing for the last decade! My experience with performance, years of private lessons and my IVA (Institute for Vocal Advancement) certification have helped me tremendously to become the kind of expressive singer I want to be. I've tried a lot of different techniques, at times feeling very frustrated and stuck, but IVA's focus on using unfinished sounds to help shape the underdeveloped parts of the voice has been life changing. I'd like to share what I've learned. I also know how hard it can be to be vulnerable in front of others and find joy in music, especially after traumatic or discouraging experiences performing. As a sensitive person who has been through it myself, I'm very passionate about helping singers reconnect with music in a way that serves them by providing a holistic teaching method. I start with a foundation of empathy and trust, getting to know my students as individuals, and then work with the voice using the technical skills I've learned, making sure they feel completely comfortable and free to share their struggles as they go. Singing is not only a skill but an expression of the soul, and I want to help facilitate that.
