Calling all piano players: Lessons with a career pianist
Specialty in beginning and intermediate piano students of all ages. With nearly 10 years of experience, I provide a specific curriculum for training in piano with an emphasis on proper technique to ensure quick, steady, and measurable improvement in my student’s piano playing ability. That said, each lesson is tailored to the needs of each student. Learning piano and music theory should be enjoyable; I teach it that way. We will also work on sight reading and performance prep! I believe that music is the universal language and when learned properly and with care, it provides an important outlet for many students to more fully express themselves. I have studied and performed piano and voice most of my life, and am currently studying. I have derived much enjoyment and gratification through those channels. My greatest joy, however, comes from teaching and being part of my students’ growth in their skill level and observing the expansion of their confidence through the discipline they learn from studying piano with me. Ready, set, let’s get started!
About Andria S.

I have had a career of playing piano and singing professionally for more than 15 years. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from San Jose State University. I travel to your home to teach piano to students of all ages and abilities specializing in the beginning and intermediate levels. In light of current conditions related to the COVID-19 pandemic, I also offer lessons online. I studied piano for 13 years, 7 of which concentrated in classical, and 6 years in pop stylings. I teach students to read music, and also to read and write lead sheets, i.e., chord sheets. I have a specific curriculum that I follow with an emphasis on proper technique. Mostly, I want my students to experience the joy that playing piano brings, and the confidence it builds in everyday life. I look forward to having the opportunity to work with you.
