Oboe with Andrew L.

I am a professional oboe player and teacher based in the Chicagoland area. I have a Bachelor of Music degree in oboe from Southern Illinois University Carbondale and a Master of Music degree in oboe from the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University. As a freelance performer, I perform with many different ensembles in the Chicago-area including, Elgin Symphony Orchestra, Rockford Symphony Orchestra, Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra, and West Michigan Symphony Orchestra. As a teacher, I dedicate myself to my students to help them achieve their goals. My students are lauded for the abilities, and many play with various youth orchestras, regional and All-state ensembles, and get into university music programs of their choice. I push students to think outside the box and create their own musical voice. Apart from my own private studio, I also work with the students at Birch Creek Music Performance Center in Door County, Wisconsin, teaching them not only oboe but professional ensemble performance skills as well. I have also had the opportunity to be a teaching artist for Bocal Majority, which offers quality double reed camps throughout the country.
