My name is Andy Curtiss. I have been training in the martial arts since the age of 4. I began in Tae-kwon-do and wrestling. I Have black belt rankings in Taekwondo, Shurite Kempo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I am a Modern Army Combatives and Marine Corps LINE Instructor, I also developed my own combatives program for Army Special Forces. I was a New York State Champion in Karate, "Armbar Kumite" (Submission Grappling with open hand striking and kicking) and the 1995 American Independent Karate Association National Champion in Full contact sparring, Kata and Open Category for the Men's Black belt division. I was number 2 in the world for my weight class in European Kickboxing under the North American Kickboxing Association in 1995-96. I have been a Professional Mixed Martial Artist since 1998.
In addition to my martial arts training, I am a combat veteran who served in Afghanistan while serving in the US Army Special Forces. When I am not training people I am a tactical instructor for various police, military and other private security organizations. I also work as a Diplomatic Security Specialist and Executive protection professional. I have written 3 books, two are published and one is in ebook format only on Kindle. I have been instructing since I was in high-school and take pride in teaching simple effective scientifically proven techniques.
