Hello and welcome!
My name is Amy and I'm a piano instructor here in NYC. I created a program for beginner level students (any age). I try to make lessons fun and work with your goals!
The program covers basic music theory like note names, beats, how to sight read and how to read dynamics. I usually start off our lessons by going over a couple scales and end the lesson with a song that we would be working on at the moment. I also provide you with a sheet of notes for the day so that you can refer back to the what we've went over anytime.
I have taught both children and adults. I make it a priority to focus on your goals whether that's to learn to play classical piano, improvise when given a set of chords to a song, learn more about music theory, etc. My goal is for you to reach your goals and become a better musician.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to message me!
I hope to work with you soon!
All the best,
I have a few students that I teach who have just started to play piano. I teach them the basic's such as hand position and basic music theory. Some of them have already started to play with hands and have tremendously improved on sight reading!
Amy is very attentive to what my goals are and incorporating it into curriculum she has prepared. Sessions do not feel like strict/regimented lessons I had as a child. She is also very flexible with scheduling and she's diligent with reminders and to-dos to keep you on track and focused. Last thing, her personality is welcoming and you never feel "pressured".+ Read More
Amy is super professional, at the same time very relaxed and layed back. Our lessons flow, no awkward pressure, very pleasant. She is a great teacher, I've taken less than 7 lessons and I am already very comfortable, I am able to read sheet music as well as play with both hands. I totally recommend her, you will not regret taking up instruction with her!+ Read More
