I am passionate about music, playing the piano, and teaching. I currently study with a doctor of music in California, and I just completed a master's degree in church music.
My goal is to give students all the tools they need to learn and understand music in a way that excites them to progress in spite of the work of practice required. I do this by teaching multiple elements (theory, sight reading, ear training, etc.) together.
I accompany the high school choir in practice and for events such as concerts, fine arts, etc.
I accompany instrumentalists in the concert band program for their fine arts program (this is part time in the spring).
Amy is an amazing teacher! I've studied piano under her both in person and online, and either way, she is excellent. She is always positive about what I can do, yet can point out ways to improve more. She listens to what I want to accomplish and finds various ways to incorporate what I want with what I need. She inspires me to want to do more than I thought I could do, and to always think bigger than the picture.
