Hello, my name is Amy and I am very excited to be teaching out of my studio, Double A music. I took 12 years of private lessons on various instruments. I have taught for about 9 years, and have an associates degree in teaching from Western Technical College in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
I enjoy helping students succeed in many areas of music, such as school orchestra, performing solo, accompaniment, improvisation, and more. I understand each student's needs will vary and provide a variety of methods and supplement materials for this purpose.
When you sign up with me you will be greeted with a welcome email. I will ask you a couple questions to help us both prepare for your first lesson. I will also send you a copy of my lesson policy. I look forward to meeting you!
***Please Note!!! I do not teach every other week lessons! I strongly feel the student needs their weekly time with me to stay focused and motivated. If you sign up and select every other week I will deny your request. Thank you!***
I own and operate my studio, Double A Music. I teach violin, guitar, and piano online. I teach those and other instruments upon request at the location of the studio. I also provide music at private events and weddings.
I traveled to student's homes and gave lessons on violin, guitar, and piano.
she knows how to teach really well
We shortened it because Bella is pretty new at even holding the violin, but the instruction and tuning was perfect for our first lesson. I am trying to be a good assist, so we can learn it together. :-)
She did wonderful!

There is no need to look any further, Amy is the best instructor TakeLessons has to offer. If you are doubtful, schedule a few lessons to find out for yourself! She is patient, and takes time to explain new material. She has sent me audio recordings of measures that I had difficulty with during lessons. She has an upbeat personality and sharp ears, which is crucial for online learning. You can't go wrong with her as your instructor.+ Read More

Amy has just been wonderful for our daughter. Our daughter is quite shy and quiet, and Amy is very patient with her. After only a few lessons, I can already hear an improvement in my daughters playing and her confidence level is soaring. Amy is a fantastic teacher! Thank you!+ Read More
She's very kind and patient and fun to just talk with like she's more friend than teacher... But like a good teacher still. :)
Amy took advantage of every minute of the lesson. She paid close attention to detail, finger position, and tune. Amy displayed knowledgeable teaching experience characteristic.
Amy is an awesome teacher! I am a beginner at playing the violin and am amazed at how much I have learned in just two lessons. Amy is patient, thorough, knowledgable, encouraging, and a very competent teacher. I wasn't sure how online lessons would be, but with Amy they are working out far better than I had anticipated. She is exactly the right teacher for me.+ Read More
Very good first lesson. Our 9 year old daughter enjoyed learning the violin.
My daughter loves her online sessions with Amy. She is always upbeat, patient and willing to keep her interested and moving forward. Amy personalizes my daughter's lessons and makes sure she has fun, while at the same time learning. Amy has been very accommodating with learning the music that Shanna has been working on at school and working around Shanna's very busy schedule.+ Read More
