Guitar with Alexander G.

Hi there! My name is Alexander Garza, and I've been playing guitar and involved in theatre arts for 18 years and speaking Spanish my whole life. I teach guitar, theatre arts, Spanish, and marketing. I am Texas certified to teach Theatre Arts (grades PreK-12), Spanish (grades 8-12), and Social Studies (grades 8-12). I've been a guitar teaching artist for a summer camp and taught private guitar lessons. I was involved in two bands in Houston, continue to write songs, and currently working on a new album. I have been an assistant teaching artist for the Alley Theatre and teaching artist at Main Street Theatre and Broadway Bound Performing Arts Centre. I have a BA from Texas A&M University and a Master's from University of Houston - Victoria. When it comes to learning guitar, I am a big advocate of learning through other people's songs. Then, depending on the student's goals, it can be beneficial to apply what you learn to create your own music. For Spanish, I teach forms of Spanish relevant to Spain as well as Mexican focused and Latin American Spanish.
