I am a 4-time Grammy nominated Music Educator and Progressive Rock Hall of Fame inductee. I have performed with notable acts like Three 6 Mafia, Oran "Juice" Jones, Kreator, Anthrax, and Lady Gaga. I have been featured in Guitar World, Revolver Magazine, Pure Grain Audio, and Relics Magazine. I have been a panelist for SXSW '12, '13, and '14. I am an alumni from the Berklee College of Music, and am currently a film scorer at Warner Bros. Records and the guitarist for international touring band Seek Irony, from Tel Aviv, Israel. *** Lesson Details *** I have been teaching professionally for 11 years and have given private and group lessons to hundreds of students. I emphasize on building a specific lesson plan to fit the students and their needs. I am a firm believer in that learning should be smooth and relaxed, so I focus on combining a fun and educational environment to allow the student's inner musician to truly come out and breathe. The student and I will work on building a relationship between the feeling of music and how it all fits together. Lessons include learning songs, music theory, instrument technique, music history, and instrument maintenance. The student could be a musical genius, but without the proper technique to execute the ideas, the student will hit a brick wall. Likewise, the student may have amazing technique, but without the proper music education, the ideas will take longer to materialize. I am here to help the student avoid those brick walls and have fun learning and playing music. *** Specialties *** I specialize in teaching instrument technique, music theory and music history, as well as several different styles. What I have taught in the past includes rock, blues, country, jazz, metal, flamenco, and pop. ***Links*** http://www.ernieball.com/artists/alex-campbell http://www.music-man.com/artists http://www.guitarworld.com/node/23815 https://koreaguitar1.wordpress.com/2015/07/01/20-questions-with-alex-campbell-of-seek-irony/

Amazing Teacher! I started taking lessons with Alex after previously taking them with a different teacher. It turns out that my technique was flawed and Alex was quick to correct it. After working with him for just a few lessons, I was already seeing improvement. Alex is very patient and helpful. I never feel embarrassed to play in front of him as I did with my previous teacher. I definitely recommend Alex!

The Perfect Teacher! Alex got me really into the passion of music, all the while fulfilling my desire to really learn the guitar. He approaches every lesson with complete patience and guidance. I am now able to learn songs on my own, understand the theory behind chord changes and scales, and I find the beauty in knowing what music really is!

I finally understood music! Alex helped me reach my goals as both a guitarist and composer. He took me from having no idea about how scales are made and their use. I now play lead guitar in a rock band and I actually understand what I'm doing on stage and in the industry.
