Upright Bass with Alex L.

During upright bass lessons with me, we'll craft a unique plan for you that will include: building strong technique, learning essential ear-training skills, forming healthy playing habits, decoding your favorite songs and how to make then come to life on the upright bass and with others. I have been playing the upright bass for more than half my life and love imparting half-a-lifetime's worth of knowledge that I've accumulated from trials, errors, successes, injuries, recovering and travels while touring and performing on the upright bass all around America with a number of bands. In my life I have studied: classical music, jazz standards, old-time fiddle music, bluegrass numbers, classic country grooves, accompanying singer-songwriters and much more. I am a lover of any music that can be traced back into the roots of the wonderful American music cannon.
