Hi, My name is Alex DeSocio and I am an operatic baritone. I have been teaching private lessons for 4 years. I specialize in training classical voice and breathing technique, but have some history teaching musical theater and rock style. My vocal technique is combination of Bel Canto and German traditions with a basis in kinesiology.
I am originally from Wichita, KS and I received my BM in Vocal Performance from Northwestern University and my MM in Operatic Performance at the University of Maryland with the Maryland Opera Studio.
My professional experience has taken me all over the country. I have sung on the stages of the Metropolitan Opera twice as a semi-finalist in the Metropolitan Opera Council Auditions, the San Francisco Opera twice as part of the Merola Opera Program, the Houston Grand Opera as a Eleanor McCollum Competition Finalist, and the Lyric Opera of Chicago as a Ryan Center Finalist.
If you think I could be of help teaching you how to sing, let me know.
