Percussion with Alek S.

My name is Alek Sakiewicz. I was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. I moved to Tallahassee back in November to be a member of STRYKE Percussion. We are a world class percussion ensemble that performs in WGI. My lessons will differ depending on the skill level of the student. If they are a beginner then I will cover all things fundamental to percussion. If the student is a more intermediate player then we can focus on a specific instrument such as Drum Set, Snare Drum, Tenor Drums, or bass drum. As well, my lessons will not only teach the students to be better players but also better people in their day to day lives. Practicing music is all about discipline, patience, and humility. Which I believe to be very important qualities for a good human. I have been involved with music for as long as I can remember. As long as I have been able to walk I have had drum sticks in my hand. Aside from that. I have been in band ever since Junior high school all the way through Senior high school. After I graduated in 2016 I went on to march drum corps with The Guardians from Houston, Texas. As well as being a founding member of Violet Crown Independent, an open class percussion ensemble who also performs in WGI. I was the ensemble leader for 2 years.
