Alan's passion for playing guitar began at an early age and continues to this day. In addition to being an experienced performer, he has had many years of formal studies in classical, jazz, rock, blues, and more.
Alan is a graduate of the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA where he studied jazz guitar and composition with such renowned and Grammy award winning artists/composers such as Alla Elana Cohen, Mick Goodrick, Sheryl Bailey, and others.
As a passionate player and lifelong student, he understands the importance of creating an efficient curriculum tailored to each individual student's interests, age, and experience. Whatever style or level of music you want to learn, Alan is the person to go to for fun, expert lessons!

*** Lesson Details ***
As an experienced teacher, I carefully customize each student's lessons with clearly defined short and long term goals according to the student's interests. I believe in cultivating a personal connection to the instrument and together creating a steady path for improvement.

I teach beginner through advanced level guitar and I'm experienced with all age levels. I love to teach and play and I look forward to making new musical friendships!

*** Studio Equipment ***
Several guitars and amps available for use in lessons.

*** Specialties ***
My first love was blues and rock guitar, and I now specialize in Jazz guitar and performance. I also have three years of formal classical guitar training and lots of experience playing many other styles including Latin Jazz, Salsa, Pop, Classical, Fusion, etc.

Great Instruction

Alan is very suited to teaching guitar. He really knows his stuff and is very willing to take the time to explain things in as much detail as you ask. He is also patient and will talk you through something you are having trouble with. He is keenly aware of what it is you wish to learn and gives you a complete overview to make sure you are on the same page. He will challenge you get to the next level. Alan is always prepared for the lessons and seems to enjoy teaching. I am very happy with the whole experience. I highly recommend Alan.

My daughter started her classes with Alan recently. She is 5 years old and I am extremely pleased with what she has learnt so far. Alan is extremely patient with kids and makes the classes enjoyable. He is very comfortable while teaching her and fully comprehends that kids her age can be distracted. However, I have observed that his teaching approach keeps her thoroughly engaged on the lesson and she enjoys it. I would highly recommend Alan.
