    About Adrianne P.

    (4)
Adrianne P. received her Bachelors of Music from the Boston Conservatory and recently graduated from the University of Michigan with Masters of Music degrees in Violin Performance and Chamber Music. Her primary teachers include Andrew Jennings of the Concord String Quartet, Yehonatan Berick of the Los Angeles Piano Quartet, and Sharan Leventhal of the Gramercy Trio. As a musician who strives to promote the music of living composers, Adrianne has premiered many works and has had the privilege to work closely with composers including Stephen Rush, Steve Reich, Julia Wolfe, Michael Gordon, Yehudi Wyner, Kathryn Alexander, Martin Bresnick, Chester Biscardi, and David Lang. Her love of new works has sparked her enthusiasm for interdisciplinary collaboration. Composers have used her poetry in new works, and she combines dance and music in original compositions. She is an active chamber musician, and a founding member of the Bricolage Quartet, formerly the Boston Conservatory Honors String Quartet. In 2011, she received an Ellen Battell Stoeckel Fellowship to attend the Norfolk New Music Workshop through Yale University. She has premiered new works with the JACK Quartet, American Modern Ensemble, and the International Contemporary Ensemble at New Music on the Point through a generous grant from the Williamson Foundation. She has also attended the Bang on a Can Summer Festival, where she had the opportunity to play groundbreaking music next to innovative works of art at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. ***Lesson Details*** Adrianne is a passionate teacher, fluent in English and Spanish, who loves to teach all ages in a wide variety of musical styles. In addition to classical music, she incorporates fiddling, movement, improvisation, and composition into her lessons. She recognizes her students' individual aspirations and her goal as a teacher is to give her students the ability to enhance their lives through music.

I have taken private lessons with multiple instructors throughout my life. Adrianne has by far been the best instructor I ever had. She was very patient and had very creative and effective approaches to explaining difficult techniques. She helped me improve a lot in a short period of time and pointed out many mistakes and bad habits that none of my other teachers had ever noticed. She is great!
