Master of Music - Saxophone Performance

    About Adam G.

Adam is an Ohio-born musician, with a wide set of skills as a performer, educator, theorist, collaborator, and composer. Adam earned his Bachelor of Music in Saxophone Performance from Wright State University (Dayton, OH) in 2009. In 2011, he completed his Master of Music - also in Saxophone Performance - at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (Lincoln, NE), where he was awarded a Graduate Teaching Assistant-ship in both the saxophone studio and music theory department. After graduating from UNL, Adam served as the Adjunct Instructor of Saxophone at Doane College (Crete, NE) for the 2011-12 academic year. While living in Ohio, Adam was active in the local musical theater scene as a multiple-woodwinds artist. He was hired to perform on instruments ranging from flute, clarinet, and saxophone to slide whistle, kazoo, and recorder. Adam has performed in shows such as “Guys and Dolls,” “Urinetown,” “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” and “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown,” just to name a fraction. Throughout his tenure in Nebraska, Adam performed consistent concert engagements with the Omaha Symphony Orchestra and Opera Omaha. As a chamber musician, Adam has had notable performances as soprano saxophonist with the Avion Saxophone Quartet (Dayton, OH) and the Westbrook Saxophone Quartet (Lincoln, NE), as well as flutist with the Enrique Torres Wind Quintet (Dayton, OH). With these ensembles, he has traveled as far as Japan and Italy, and has premiered original works by new composers such as David von Kampen, A.J. McCaffrey, Chris Serena, David McKeever, Garrett Hope, Edwin Waskiewicz, and Nestor Jaenz. Adam currently lives in Denver, Colorado. He performs regularly as a saxophonist, flutist, and guitar-wielding singer-songwriter.
