I've been teaching music in schools for 13 years -- band, choir, orchestra, guitar, composition -- and have a Bachelors and Masters degree in Music Education. I specialize in helping people build healthy, effective practice habits while mastering technique and songs on their instruments. I am fluent in music theory and regularly compose and arrange for a variety of classical, pop, rock, and jazz ensembles. I teach students of all ages and experience levels on guitar and brass instruments. I work with my students to develop meaningful practice routines focused on learning challenging and interesting music and I enjoy coaching students on developing strong practice and performance habits. I believe with a little hard work and dedication, any person can become an independent musician.
