About Adam B.
I am a percussionist and composer based in NYC. I hold a DMA and MM in Percussion Performance from Stony Brook University and a BM in Music Composition and Music Education from The University of Houston. As a percussionist and composer I specialize in contemporary classical chamber music. As an educator I have taught students of all ages with a wide variety of musical interests and ability levels. I strive to prepare my students to accomplish their musical goals by focusing on their technical needs and ability to think musically.
Throughout the course of my education, I have played in contemporary chamber groups, percussion ensembles, orchestras, opera orchestras, wind ensembles and performed many solo percussion recitals. Currently, I perform in a percussion duo with my colleague in NYC. As a composer, I write mostly chamber and solo music for a wide variety of instruments.
I teach lessons both from my studio in Long Island City and in the homes of my students. I am also available to teach lessons online. I have taught students ranging from Kindergarten to the University level in various settings. Many of my students have gone on to pursue careers in music.
