I am an experienced and caring piano teacher, dedicated to maturing a student's personal relationship with the piano and with the great classical composers. I work with a special focus on achieving a singing tone, a confident technique, and a unique artistic voice in each of my pupils. My own training represents a mixture of the Russian and American piano traditions. I am currently accepting a small number of remote students to fill out my roster. Upright or grand piano is a must. Feel free to reach out to me if you are interested!

About Adam A.

I am a professional pianist and piano teacher, born and raised in NYC. My first teacher was my grandmother, Lalan Parrott, who was herself a pupil of Rosina Lhevinne. In 2009, I enrolled at Mannes College Prep Division, where I studied with Irina Edelman. In 2013, I began my studies at Queens College, joining the studio of Dr. Donald Pirone. I have given numerous solo and chamber performances in the New York City area, in venues including Mannes Concert Hall, Weill Recital Hall, Steinway Hall, and Alice Tully Hall. At Queens College, I gave a number of solo recitals in the esteemed LeFrak Concert Hall, where my programs included masterworks such as J.S. Bach’s Partita No. 6 in E minor, Schumann’s Symphonic Etudes, and Brahms’ Piano Sonata no. 2 in F-sharp minor. In 2016, I performed Schumann’s Piano Concerto with the Queens College Symphony Orchestra.

I firmly believe that classical music belongs in the life of every person, young and old, and I seek to instill a love of the great classical composers in each of my students. Through a carefully selected and individualized musical curriculum, my pedagogy is aimed at discovering each pupil's unique artistic personality, and expressing their personality through the music they learn. I look forward to meeting you and embarking on this unique artistic journey together.
