Terrible experience. Couldn't connect online, 20 minutes after start time called him and he tried to assist, but ended up doing a "phone lesson" which consisted of a question and answer time where I had to come up with my own questions. To conclude we were told to go out and take some pictures on our own and learn from experimenting on our own taking pictures of all kinds of things. We could then download them, send to him, and he could critique.
Not what I expected. Not necessarily his fault, but Going to ask for refund

when I made an appointment, I asked if Sergey was familiar with my camera and they said yes. It seemed new to him. But after talking about my fijifilm x100F, I am returning the camera. So overall I did like Sergey and look forward to my next Hour

I have been teaching chess for 3 years and my students have gone on to tournament level and won competitions. Within the first few lessons, my students have developed a deeper understanding of chess strategies As the progressed further in their lessons they have developed special moves to win the chess games. I take pride in my students' success and love working with them. I do provide tournament chess boards for my students.

About Siddharth
Hi there, my name is Siddharth and I have been teaching chess in public and private schools, including private lessons, over the last three years.

I love to see students grow with each lesson and accomplish their goals. Under my tutelage, I have helped students advance from beginner level to tournament level competition. Recently, two of my students have won in their respective tournaments.

I attended De Monte Fort University in England and earned my degree in Textile Technology and Business Management in 1976. Since then I have been fortunate to be able to travel worldwide.

I enjoy teaching children of all ages, as well as adults. My philosophy is to make chess a fun experience while improving my students' technical skills.

I look forward to helping you reach your goals.

As a 2000-rated Expert Chess Player and a Chess Teacher for NYC Public Schools, I have the ability to teach to any age level. We'll discuss the great men and women of chess history, tactics, tournament preparation, openings, middlegame plans, and endgames that will help ensure your victory. Come check me out!

About John
Here goes...
I am a chess teacher, tutor, singer, and Shakespearean actor in NYC! I guess you could say I wear a lot of hats.

I graduated with honors in 2009 from New York University with a BFA in Drama. I've been professionally teaching since 2012, but I have always loved sharing the game of chess with anyone who wants to learn (just ask my friends).

Students can expect to face new challenges and to improve each and every week. I am happy to work with students of all different ages and experience levels. As a teacher in the New York Public School system, I know how to make chess simple and friendly enough for Kindergartners, Senior Citizens, and everyone in between! And as an active tournament player (current rating 2000), I can offer great insight into the needs of any skill level. I am thrilled to work with ambitious tournament playe
rs and those who just want to learn how to beat their friends :).

Chess is a wonderful, challenging game, but I truly believe that anyone can learn to play if they are motivated. Come work with me and discover your new obsession!

Strong analytical skills.
I've been playing chess for 20 years
I've reached a 2020 elo on lichess
I estimate my elo rating in otb (over the board) to be somewhere between 2100-2300 and close to master level or even Grandmaster level for slower games.
I know a lot of cool ways to improve at chess and how to teach to get better at analysis and improving your chess/understanding/reviewing your games.
I would love to work with you and help boost your elo by hundreds of points (especially those under 1800 elo) or beginners/intermediate players.
I'm willing to teach all levels.

About Stephen
Currently looking for new students.
I teach piano, japanese, chess, go(weiqi/baduk), and meditation/self-improvement.
I am very proficient in all of the above subjects and have helped dozens of students reach their long-term goals over the years. I am also very patient and have taught children piano lessons for more than 10 years. As a learner I know how overwhelming new subject-matter could be and I tend to understand the pace that the student needs/wants to go at.
I feel a huge sense of accomplishment when I see my students improving. I also am constantly improving myself as a teacher so the lessons will only get better and the material should be easier to understand with time.
Let's master anything you want to work on, and have a lot of fun too :)
Thanks for reading!
-Stephen

Patient instructor. I'm super rusty and he was able to keep at my pace. He also made it interesting by using practical scenarios and alternating with cartoons or games. He watches anime as well so I was able to learn while talking about things I like. It helped practicing much easier.

日本語の理解が深い。四字熟語とかことわざとかもいっぱい知っているし、漢字も教えられるし、上級者でも授業を受けてもいいと思う。初心者を教えるところも見たことあって、わかりやすく説明してくれた。
I think that both advanced learners and beginners could benefit from taking one of his lessons.

My father is a Chess champ that taught my nephews ( both National Chess Champs) and I. I am able to adapt and make the lesson according to your skill level and most importantly based upon your personality. Chess is a game of Life and how you live usually determines how you play or vice versa.

About aldonia
Chess has helped me concentrate and improve my logical thinking. It has also taught me to take responsibility for my actions, and of course how to problem solve in uncertain environments.

Want to learn Chess? Don't want to find judgemental teacher like your school/college professor? Look no further.
I'm a college student who has great knowledge of chess (played for 18 years, competitively for 13). I've been working as a teacher for 2 years. Im fluent in English/Russian/Ukrainian.
What I will give you/your kid is a good/great base, make him enjoy chess. In my lifetime I met teachers who push their kids too hard that kids eventually drop enjoyment from chess. I know chess can be challenging and will try to provide you with great opportunity to learn, without breaking your limits and make you regret you took this class. I was a victim of losing my interest to chess because of one such teacher, so for me its important that when you leave my class, you still enjoy what you are doing.

What I'll be covering in my classes:
Beginner- basic chess moves, simple logical and thinking development, referencing or showing different openings (giving both theory and practice)
...

About Sergii
I was born in Ukraine, started playing hockey at 3, chess at 4, still playing chess but not competitively anymore. I'm a junior at University of Houston and working towards my Engineering major, where I feel chess helped me great, especially with logic thinking and analysis. I've been teaching chess in high school library to kids who wanted to learn and then also played and taught chess in university to those who didn't know it yet. When I stopped playing competitively in chess at 15, my ELO was in around 1900. Currently I would say its around 1800-1900 based on chess players/programs that I play with.
