Graduated from Georgia Southern in 2001, with a bachelor degree in music education and Boston University in 2015, with a masters in music education.

Have worked for Atlanta public schools as a band director since Fall 2002.

Private lessons are taught on piano, guitar, and all the band instruments.

I also have a deep passion for Disc jockeying with a bias towards reggae and dance music.

*** Lesson Details ***
Students can except a stress free learning process. After learning the basic symbols of music notation, breathing, and simple rhythms the students will continue learning the techniques and fingerings on their chosen instrument. After mastering these basic concepts in music the children will then be given a chance to perform their songs to an instrumental accompaniment. This is good for the student who does not play
in an ensemble to have the opportunity to play and listen to other moving parts.

*** Specialties ***
music, bass guitar, bassoon, children's music, guitar, classical guitar, electric guitar, home recording, African drum, music theory, acoustic guitar, flute, oboe, trumpet, saxophone, tuba, songwriting, french horn, trombone, clarinet, recording school, piano

I focus on the fundamentals and on having fun playing the clarinet. In the first lessons we will concentrate on developing good embouchure and hand position so you can create a beautiful sound. We will work on a variety of music, depending on your interests. I can help you master your parts for school bands and ensembles. I welcome students at all levels, and make sure that all of my students recognize the progress they make at each lesson. I look forward to working with you!

About Alessandro
Hi, my name is Alessandro. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance from DePaul University School of Music and I have been teaching lessons since April 2015. I am currently studying for my Master's Degree at DePaul as well. I think there are two important parts of taking clarinet lessons: learning the fundamentals, and having lots of fun. I focus on basics like embouchure, air, and tone to help you develop good technique. I will also work with you to select music that you like and that you will be excited to play.

I have played clarinet for 9 years and I play it in the UCLA marching band! Please look at my profile for more info :)

About Ashley
Hi! My name is Ashley. I am 19 years old and am a sophomore at UCLA. I am studying Music Education with oboe as my main instrument. I also play clarinet in the UCLA Marching Band. I have been playing clarinet for 9 years and oboe for 3. For reference, I also play English Horn and Bass Clarinet. I joined band in 5th grade and absolutely fell in love with it. Over time, I realized I also am very passionate about teaching people. Therefore, I decided to study music education. My goal is to become a high school band/orchestra director. My background with teaching includes working at a daycare during my senior year of high school, being in music leadership all 4 years of high school, and teaching music and other subjects to my little brother! (He's 8 years old) I also was principle oboe for two years in my youth orchestra, Civic Youth Orchestr
a. Honestly, I am joining this website so that I can earn some money because I am paying for my own college education, and also to improve my teaching skills. I thought that this was a perfect option so that I can provide for myself while doing what I love to do. Thank you!

My daughter just started clarinet. I was unsure whether online lessons would work for a beginner, but they have! They are easy to schedule, easy because you don't leave your home, and they are working well. Ashley is knowledgeable, kind, attentive, and patient. My daughter has progressed very well in just a month of lessons. Ashley is very supportive, which is needed when starting a new instrument.

As a trumpet player, I am well-versed in music. I have sat in on a couple lessons, and I am very pleased with Ashley's teaching technique and approach. My daughter loves her, too. I would certainly recommend Ashley as a teacher.

Comprehensive discussion of fundamentals. Emphasis on a jazz approach. I am a doubler, not an orchestral clarinetist. If you seek impeccable classical chops, you may want to look elsewhere. But if you seek a strong foundation from a doubler's perspective, look no further!

About Mike
I've toured the world and lived to tell the tale!

Being on the road can be arduous and taxing, but it is the adventure of a lifetime. I've done it all, from roughing it up and down the eastern seaboard in a minivan with the Indie Rock band Busman's Holiday, to playing big stages in Botswana, South Africa, and the United Kingdom with Zimbabwean music legend Thomas Mapfumo and his band Blacks Unlimited. I even got my sea legs performing in the orchestra aboard the Island Princess and the Grand Princess cruise liners! The cruise ships sent me around the Mediterranean, across the Atlantic, through the Carribbean to Colombia, along the Panama Canal, up the coast of Mexico, and finally dodging icebergs on the Alaskan Coastline! And last but not least, I got the chance to play cutting-edge jazz at festivals in Taiwan and China.

As a friend of
mine once said, "Your horn is a magic wand. Just point it the direction you want to go, and it will take you there!" Truer words were ne'er spoken. If you want your music to take you places, studying with me is a great place to start.

Come join the music, and let's go places!

Excellent teacher, very pedagogical and knowledgeable of an extensive clarinet repertoire. He uses recognized methods, studies and diverse orchestral excerpts to develop the technique of his pupils. This technique will allow the student to play skillfully at any time (rehearsals, recitals, concerts, recordings) and in any musical format (orchestra, chamber music). He is always focused on the quality of the interpretation. Moreover, he adapts the work material to the needs of each student to solve any deficiency and enhance the strengths. Additionally, he provides advice about videos and recordings which help students expand their musical criteria. I highly recommend him!

About Taylor
Hello! My name is Taylor! I currently teach after-school keyboard classes at Fulton/Cobb county schools through FineArtsMatters. I was a piano student (just like you!) for twelve whole years! I was also in wind ensembles, and marching bands, as a tuba-ist and clarinetist up until 2016. Thanks to my wonderful teachers, including Susan Naylor from Reinhardt University, I hope that I am ready to help guide you on your own musical journey! I like to make lessons all about you: what your goals are, and how I can help get you there!

If classical music isn't your thing, no problem! I have actually been a pianist/accompanist for musical theater productions like Legally Blonde, Into the Woods, Jekyll and Hyde, and a few more. I can even teach you how to accompany yourself while you sing. Although I am a huge advocate of learning what you want,
I am also a huge stickler for music theory. So I will also teach you the "why" and "how" of music!

Learning to play the Clarinet should be fun and enjoyable. I've spent many years learning and perfecting my craft and I know from personal experience that if you aren't having fun, you won't learn nearly as much. We will go at your pace and I will never give you more to work on than you have time/are ready for.

About Roddy
I began playing Clarinet in middle school band. I quickly discovered that music was what I wanted to do with my life. Through years of hard work, I began to make that dream a reality. I studied Clarinet Performance with Robert Chesebro at Furman University where I earned my Bachelors degree in Music Performance. I began teaching at this time and loved every minute of it. From there I went to LSU for graduate school and studied with Robert DiLutis.

I joined the US Army as a Clarinet player and spent 4 years performing with the 82nd Airborne Division All-American Band and Chorus.

I love teaching and I love making music. I've had many different experiences that I believe contribute to my teaching style in positive ways. My only goal in teaching is the success of my students. If you learn anything new from me then I consider that a s
