    Blake is a young up-and-coming performer and instructor. He was fortunate enough to attend McNally Smith College of Music, where he was awarded the Honors Scholarship for Excellence in Percussion, an award that's offered to incoming Percussion Performance Majors. During his time at McNally Smith, he studied with many great instructors from the twin cities: Gordy Knudtson, David Schmalenberger, David Stanoch, JT Bates, Kevin Washington, Marv Dahlgren, and Paul Stueber. He has also studied with nationally acclaimed drummers: Mike Clark (Herbie Hancock's Headhunters), Robert 'Sput' Searight (Snarky Puppy), JP Bouvet and Chris Wabich. Being under the instruction of so many different drummers, Blake quickly became a very versatile musician. In addition to teaching privately, Blake has taught at School of Rock, Soundcheck Music School, and Schuster's Music.

    Blake is a wonderful teacher. He has a great easygoing personality and really cares about how my son is doing, as far as lesson go but also inquires about how he is doing otherwise. He is knowledgable. A person can be knowledgeable but not necessarily a good teacher - he is both. I highly recommend Blake.

    As an adult with no rhythm learning an instrument for the first time this was probably a very large challenge for Blake. His lessons were always helpful and I looked forward to meeting with him. I will be continuing my lessons with him again and highly recommend choosing Blake for your lessons.

    School of Rock

    School of Rock teaches guitar, bass, vocals, keyboards, drums and combines weekly private music lessons and group band rehearsals to prepare students to take the stage in front of live audiences in an authentic concert setting. To date our students have played thousands of concerts, to more than 100,000 people, at such legendary venues as CBGB's, The Trocadero, The Knitting Factory, The Whiskey, The Roxy, The Experience Music Project, The Big Easy and BB King's Blues Club in Times Square. We have also had the great fortune to be able to perform at music festivals from Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits, to Zappanale in Bad Doberan, Germany.

    Schuster's Music

    Schuster's Music is a locally owned musical instrument shop in Downtown Hudson, WI. Schuster's was opened in 2009 by Andy Schuster, a Twin-Cities based bassist. The objective of the store is to provide Hudson and the surrounding communities a place to get great musical gear, learn about music through lessons, and just have a nice comfortable place to hang out and talk about and listen to music. We offer all kinds of new and used instruments and amps, a nice selection of band instruments for sale and for rent, all types of guitar repair and setup, and all the major accessories: Strings, tuners, effects pedals, picks, stands, cables … At Schuster's, we pride ourselves on providing exceptional service and competitive prices.
