I have benefited from 6 years of intensive training and performance on bassoon. I want to share the rich tradition and repertoire of the this difficult but supremely rewarding instrument with my students. Almost of a decade of teaching and leading small ensembles has given me the skills I need to educate both beginners and experienced players. -BA in Music Performance -1st and 2nd chair in full orchestra and wind band -chamber music/folk ensembles -Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Modern, and Beyond! *** Lesson Details *** My motto is "tools, not rules". I teach traditional techniques, exercises, and pieces rigorously according to the classical pedagogy in which I was trained myself. However, once a student has mastered the conventional, I encourage then to improvise, experiment, and be creative with the knowledge they acquire. Progress will depend on the individual student, but a complete beginner can expect, with dedicated practice, to be able to play basic pieces with other musicians within a year. *** Specialties *** classical, blues, klezmer, irish, rock
