For my younger guitar students, I use the Progressive Guitar Method for Young Beginners series. This book includes a CD to help the student practice at home. For my older guitar students I use a progressive guitar curriculum of my own creation.
For my voice students I use Pathways of Song, Hall Johnson Spirituals, 24 Italian Songs and Arias, Alfred's Folk Songs for Solo Singers, Carl Fisher's The Young Singer series as well as song materials based upon the student's personal interests, such as art songs and Broadway show tunes.
For my piano students I use the Piano Adventures series by Nancy and Randall Faber and the Alfred Piano Series. Music reading, ear training and theory is part of my instruction. With daily practice you will see a noticeable improvement in musicianship, aural skills and music-reading ability.

Tim took the time I needed to understand and explained things so well. Can't wait for my second lesson.
I have really learned a lot in the 3 lessons I have completed. Look forward in future lessons to come. Keep up the great work.
My 8-year-old has been taken the lessons from him since March of last year and it has been an amazing journey for her taking his lessons.
He is calm, patient and very talented.
I am so thankful that I found him through this website!
Tim is the perfect instructor for me! His patience and instructions have taught me to concentrate, relax and enjoy learning.
Tim William is a GREAT TEACHER, and I will only go to him for my singing lessons.thank you very much.
Tim was very patient with me and it was very enjoyable!
My first lesson, i haven't had any other instructors, so it is hard to say best instructor ever. I was nervous about what to expect, but the lesson went well. Tim is skilled and makes it easy to learn. Aside from my sweating from nerves and unsureness, i feel it was a great lesson and will be going back for more.Show More
Tim was very knowledgable and patient with my son.
He makes sure the student understand first before he goes further
Tim is a wonderful teacher! I've taken voice lessons before and had been in choirs growing up, but I recently decided to get back into singing as an adult. He has helped me to continue to learn proper vocal technique and we've worked on beautiful, challenging songs. Tim has shown me how to finally overcome my horrible "solo nerves" with different exercises - something I thought was impossible! I would recommend him to any singer - beginning or experienced.Show More
He is very talented and patient.
My 7 year old love taking piano lessons from him.
He was experienced and very caring for my daughter to feel comfortable.
It was a first piano lesson for my 7 year old and she bragged about how she enjoyed the class. I am so glad that we found him!
Tim is an excellent teacher. He is great with my 9 year old daughter in her piano lessons. He is very patient, and quite passionate about music. He takes the time to answer my daughter's many questions, and has helped to further her passion for piano playing. She has been taking lessons with him for almost a year now, and has enjoyed and benefited from every minute. I couldn't ask for a better piano teacher!Show More
This teacher let me 9 year old struggle through piano pieces he hadn't played in month during his first lesson, although I made sure to let him know that my son hadn't played in over half a year. The teacher sat there in silence as my child struggled through the pieces. He didn't give any positive or constructive feedback as my child sat there in silence struggling. He took a phone call during our 30 minute lesson and wrote comments in his notebook, visible to my child such as "rusty" "needs improvement". I was tempted to rescue my son after 15 minutes, but hoped that some instruction would soon take place, it didn't. Not suitable for young children in my opinion. Definitely will not return.Show More
Mr K. takes a very solid and practical approach. He has really helped me understand what the body needs for singing. I would recommend him to anybody really wanting a formal instruction and a "backbone" for vocal technique.
Great! My daughter loved it and is excited to continue voice lessons with Mr. Tim!
First lesson went very well. My daughter was comfortable with Mr. Keene and I hope she continues.
Tim was very pleasant and professional. We covered a lot of material in a short amount of time and he was very patient with me when I made mistakes.
Tim Williams has been teaching guitar lessons to my 9 year old grandson. He is very patient with him and after 4 months Kevin is really excited about learning more from him. We are taking a break for the summer because of vacations but will be bake in the fall after school starts! Very good teacher!Show More
Really good teacher!! Great experience.
Great Teacher! I have learned more in one year than I dreamed possible. Tim is easy to work with, patient and possesses a vast amount of knowledge. He keeps it interesting with his explanations of originations. He was my right choice!
Mr. Keene is a remarkable piano teacher. My son did not want to take piano lessons but Mr. Keene inspired him to play the piano and play it well. My son has been with Mr Keene for just a few months and my son's piano playing has greatly improved. I was worried about having a teacher go too slow though the books and lessons but Mr. Keene has worked at a great pace and moved my son along adequately and he has learned so much. I am very impressed. He is very knowledgable and we highly recommend Mr. Keene for piano!
Piano lessons for 2 young active boys
Tim is an extremely patient, calm and professional piano teacher. He has been teaching my 5 and 7 year old boys for 8 months now. They are not easy students- one is a total wiggle worm and the other has a speech/language delay. He handles the situation beautifully. The best part is that the boys are learning properly from the very basics- sitting at the piano, hand positioning, rhythm, reading music, and actually playing. We're using Alfred's basic course starting from pre-reading and beginner. HIghly recommend for a low-stress music teacher.
Tim is an excellent teacher. We were very impressed with his knowledge and my daughter showed tons of improvement in the past few months. This helped her confidence level and she sings more often. We highly recommend Tim as a voice teacher.
My daughter has been taking piano lessons from Mr. Keene for 5 months. She had taken lessons in the past, but because we moved hadn't continued for 2 years. In these 5 short months she has learned more than she did in a year of prior lessons. Mr. Keene is calm, patient and teaches respectfully. Although I am pleased with what she has accomplished so far, I am most pleased with the fact that she has acquired a passion for music which wasn't there before.
Mr. Keene is an excellent teacher. He explains his method very well to my daughter and listens to her as well. Very soft spoken and puts her at ease. Couldn't ask for a better teacher for my daughter.
Mr. Keene is an excellent teacher. He is very kind and patient and thoughtful. I would highly recommend him to anyone wanting to learn piano.
My eyes have been opened!
My husband scheduled piano lessons as a Christmas gift to me. I have a definite love of music, but never thought I possessed rhythm or ability, but I do have a piano! Mr. Keene, in just a few lessons, has shown me that I may be able to accomplish what I thought an impossibe feat-play the piano. His patience, guidance and explanations are leading me down a path which I am thoroughly enjoying.
Tim is extremely patient and encouraging; my stepson and I think he is awesome!
lessons going well.learning a lot and playing for friends already.
Excellent teacher. Lessonss going well.
