Learn to act with love and care: empathy-based acting training

Howdy! I'm a recent college grad with formal experience in directing, instructing, and theory-based research. My theatrical focus is 'trauma art', or the performance of physically and or emotionally intensive material. Whether it's learning how to portray a realistic villain or how to perform difficult material safely, I've got it covered. I believe that the best effort is possible through giving the most empathy and love you have as a human. My lessons will involve learning how to approach these issues, along with consent and sensitivity training, to ensure that you aren't afraid of anything put in front of you. It'll be a low-stress, easy going environment. The emphasis will be learning how to love what is often unloved in theatre. Thank you so much.

    About Willard F.

Howdy! I am Willard, a 22 year old freshly new to Los Angeles but not to performance art. I received my degree from University of Puget Sound in Theatre Arts with a minor in Philosophy. There I had the opportunity to direct productions of Extremities by William Mastrosimone and 4.48 Psychosis by Sarah Kane, both plays dealing with very intense and taboo subjects. Along with that, I conducted funded theory-based research on how racial dynamics between the audience and the actor affect how racial dynamics are written in scripts. However, for some unknown reason, I managed to truly love and have fun with these experiences. I've instructed both acting and directing lessons, put together multiple pieces of performance art, and have been involved in the emo/punk music scene. I'm a relaxed person otherwise.
