I began my musical journey at an early age. My early influences were my mother who was trained as a classical pianist / visual artist and father who played Johnny Cash and Ventures tunes on the guitar. Growing up music was always in the around the house. From Debussy, Ravel, Tchaikovsky to folk, country, pop and rock artists of the day. I played in my first bands during Junior High School. I continued playing in local bands through high school. After high school I worked on formal classical studies at the college level. As a student, I was fortunate enough to study with Frank Kimlicko at Tyler Jr. College and Enric Madriguera at Eastfield College in Dallas, TX. A highlight of of this time included guitar classes in Spain and Italy and further musical studies under the guidance of Professor Enric Madirguera now at University of Texas Dallas. During the trip Warren I was able to perform in masterclasses taught by Jose Tomas and Alirio Diaz. I earned my Bachelor of Music Degree at the University of North Texas, Denton, TX, considered by many one of the top ranked colleges of music in the United States. In addition he twice completed teacher training in the Suzuki guitar method under the direction of Frank Longay, Norma McNamara, Bill Kossler and Seth Himmelhoch at Inter Mountain Suzuki Institute in Park City Utah.
