I am a GRAMMY Nominated educator, trumpeter, guitarist, bassist, pianist, singer/songwriter, composer/arranger, drummer and recording artist. I graduated from University of Indianapolis with a Bachelor’s of Arts with a concentration in Jazz Studies and the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music with a Master’s in Jazz Studies, specifically in trumpet. I am currently Director of Instrumental Music at Olney Central College and Linclon Trail College and have taught at Vincennes University in the past.
I work with brass players, improvisors, singers, guitarists/bassists, pianists, drummers & songwriters/producers/composers in a wide age & stylistic range and assorted skill levels with a variety of musical goals. I can teach students to read music and pursue classical excellence, to learn how to play contemporary music using chord sheets, or both depending on the goals and preference of the student. My versatility, experience and formal training helps me to make the learning experience easy, stress free and fun. I can help any student to play or sing with freedom, confidence, and expression.
As a professional recording artist I have frequently taken trips to New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Nashville, Chicago, Indianapolis, Cincinnati and many more cities for co-writing, recording, gigging and meeting with record labels. I have worked with well-known artists like Bootsy Collins (Rock and Roll Hall of Fame), Philip Paul (Rock and Roll Hall of Fame), Leroy Parnell (Country Music Legend), Marshall Jones (Original Bassist for Ohio Players), Liz Mandeville (Chicago Blues Hall of Fame), and Pinetop Perkins (GRAMMY Lifetime Achievement Award Winner). I love to mentor students who want to become effective, dynamic and versatile musicians.
My personal passion is jazz, blues and soul music but I firmly believe that great technique is essential to any and every style. I look forward to meeting you and helping you to become a better musician!

Wade Baker was a great trumpet instructor. One thing I noticed and liked a lot from the moment I met him was that he connected with his students to create a better musical experience. Only good things came out of my lessons and rehearsals with him. I was only under his instruction for a year, but I grew a lot as a player with the help from him and also learned more about music than I ever did before. Wade is a very experienced player in multiple genres of music and he makes sure to use all of what he learned to teach his students. The only downside to being under his instruction was how busy he could be at times, but as a musician myself I completely understood. I would recommend Wade to anyone with how great my experience was with him.+ Read More

Great Instructor!!! The different chords/voicing and theory knowledge I've gained from these lessons have helped me in a numerous amount of ways. I encourage everyone to take lessons from Wade. It will be well worth your time
Wade is awesome! His bright charisma motivated me to push forward in my music career. He also employed many techniques that truly fit my learning style and helped me grow better as a musician.
Wade offers quality lessons at an affordable price! Wade was really good about working with my schedule. I enjoyed my lessons with Wade, I also learned so much him. I definitely would reccomend lessons with him to anyone wanting to improve their playing.
Wade helped me find my sound in not only music but also my life. He gets to know each and everyone of his students on a personal level and tailors their lessons to fit their goals and needs. I entered his lessons at a beginner level on trumpet and over the next two semester, I was able to work my sound quality up to several years of experience within a short period of time. He is someone who has worked in both the field of education and the music business. With his knowledge he was able advised me through my music, business ventures, and life goals. Out of all of the instructors I have taken lessons through, Wade has been the only one to find a way to teach the material while impacting and interacting with today's way and age of learning. He uses music, books, audio, and media to help suit all ways of learning. I have and still recommend his work today to anyone who is interested in learning music and pursuing the arts.+ Read More
