Hi, nice to meet you!
I hold a Master degree of Music in Flute Performance from The Ohio State University and a Bachelor degree in Music Performance from Minzu University of China.
As a winner of the University of Central Oklahoma Concerto Competition, I played the Mozart Flute Concerto in D Major as a soloist with the UCO Symphony Orchestra.
I am capable of teaching students at all levels, and all music styles: Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Contemporary. My lesson often included warm-up, etude, repertoire, theory, and orchestral excerpts.
Please don’t hesitate contacting me! I’m happy to answer all questions!
I started teaching private flute lessons at the Music & Arts (Worthington) in September, 2018.
Starting from 2012, I taught flute lessons privately for students aging from 9-35. I gained experience of teaching in all levels and enjoy introducing suitable repertoires for students in different levels.
My key mission of teaching is to create the interest of music, and provide a positive learning experience for all my students.
I served as a camp counselor in flute teaching at The Ohio State University Flute Workshop in the past two years. I led section studies of music theory, small ensemble rehearsal, and gave performances at the Counselor Recital.
At Xi-Si Music Studio, I taught both private flute lessons and flute ensembles.
I taught general music, Chinese and Western instrumental history, and recorder playing at Yu-hua Elementary School as a volunteer teacher during my undergraduate studies.
The National Flute Association, founded in 1972, is the largest flute organization in the world. Approximately 5,000 members from more than 50 countries join together in person, online, at conventions, informally and in forums, through publications and classrooms, in performance, in friendship and collegiality. Guided by its goals to encourage a higher standard of artistic excellence for the flute, its performers, and its literature, members include leading soloists, orchestral players, jazz and world music performers, teachers, adult amateurs, and students of all ages.+ Read More
Vivien is excellent at addressing issues in my playing, while also encouraging me to continue to do well what she deems good playing. She has a positive attitude every lesson and I always feel invigorated to practice more afterwards and put forth more energy into music. I am grateful to have a teacher that challenges me and gives me confidence in my skills.+ Read More
