I love teaching and my goal is always for my enthusiasm to be contagious! I've taught private piano lessons for over 15 years and specialize in teaching pre-K through high school-aged students. In addition to teaching private voice and piano lessons, I have also taught music in elementary and high schools and have music directed youth and adult musical theatre productions throughout Southern California. I create customized lesson plans for all my students to ensure that they are engaged and having fun while learning! In addition to drawing on traditional piano books and curricula, I encourage students to choose songs to work on that they recognize and are inspired to learn. We work on sight-reading skills, music theory, and proper playing technique all while focusing on a song that your child is motivated to learn and play. I believe that learning to play the piano should be a positive and rewarding experience - and that if the student is provided with the right environment and tools to succeed they will remain motivated and will love playing!
