They say those that can't do---teach! But what they never say next is that those who can't teach--DO POORLY. I am a firm believer that in order to master something, you have to be able to understand it to the point where you could teach it to another. I apply this philosophy to every subject I excel in. It allows me to recognize the language, the steps and individual cogs in the great machine of an activity and see how each impacts the other. Subsequently, the goal of our lessons is for you to have such a thorough understanding of the subject that you could turn around and teach it to someone else. I am a professional writer, comedian, musician, and---ahem---teacher, and I can barely describe the puzzle-solving joy I feel going from DOING to TEACHING. Allow me to share that joy with you.
