*** Travel Equipment *** I can provide written or published materials. I expect the student to have a piano or electronic piano. *** Specialties *** I am a classically trained opera singer. I also enjoy singing and teaching Broadway and Jazz. I use a variety of methods depending on the idiom the students is working on. ***Background*** I have been singing opera for 16 years. Slowly I have morphed into personally doing more musical theater and jazz during my teaching career. I am a certificated K-12 in Music Education with an emphasis in Choral Music from the University of Washington. Masters in Education from Lesley University. I have been teaching choir and band for the past 12 years. In addition to teaching music in the schools, I work for various schools and theaters as music director. I am passionate about the Arts and love teaching music to children of all ages. My experiences teaching children, teenagers and adults been a very rewarding and fulfilling experience because I am constantly challenged to improve and polish my skills. It is this process of personal growth that I truly enjoy. I get pleasure from helping people achieve their musical goals and the challenge of finding a variety of ways to communicate what they need in order to be successful.
