My Name is Tyler Jazz Straining, why yes Jazz is my real middle name! I have been playing guitar, bass, piano, and songwriting for over 10 years! I teach electric guitar, acoustic guitar, bass guitar, classical guitar, music theory, and songwriting! I am a formally trained musician with a BA in Guitar Composition and an AA in the Music Industry, currently I am in obtaining my Master's Degree in Songwriting and Production form Berklee College of Music! I teach all ages and all skill levels my youngest student being 5 and my oldest right now being 67. It's never to early or to late to learn the gift of music!
I host songwriting forums and videos online while also going to school and teaching full time. But no worries, I always have time to take emails and phone calls from students who struggle with any of the material. My passion is watching students grow into the awesome creators of tomorrow!

My son Austin took lessons with Tyler while he was a student instructor at Messiah College for just over a year. I saw my son go from barely being able to hold the guitar to playing songs he loved. I was so happy to see my son play his guitar.
Unfortunately we had to move being a military family and we had to stop our lessons. But as a parent I highly suggest Tyler. I was able to attended every lesson and help take notes for my son and Tyler made me feel involved in every lesson! Great teacher!

After the first month I was playing one of my favorite Blink 182 songs and soon enough I was playing a lot of my pop punk favorites.
