Trevor has studied the guitar with many master level guitarists. His experience of formal and none formal training gives him an in-depth teaching style. He has over 11 years of teaching experience and a living practical approach to the guitar. Trevor is experienced in teaching jazz, rock, folk, blues, blues grass and many other styles of guitar playing. His clear communication skills, and intuitive nature assist him in developing custom tailored lesson to student's individual needs. Trevor studied at Wayne State University and has performed with Grammy nominated musicians. His lighthearted playfulness is delightful for students young and old. *** Lesson Details *** When students study with Trevor they can look forward to developing there musical skills under his clear, focused and laid back approach to the instrument. After the first lesson students will be seeing their skills improve. In as little to six months sincere students often master the basics of the guitar or even more. Trevor teaches students how to think from their intuition and play from their ear. He keeps things grounded in traditional music theory, yet with an easy to understand approach. We learn to figure songs out by ear from recordings as well as practicing exercises to help increase intuitive knowledge on the neck of the guitar. Students learn how to read tablature and chord charts as well. When learning music theory and musical vocabulary from Trevor you will have a holistic experience. Trevor aids the student in bringing the guitar to life and understanding the complexities of the neck in simple way. *** Studio Equipment *** I bring my acoustic guitar and or mandolin. If a student wants to have an electric guitar lesson the student will need to supply an amp we can both play out of and they must supply there own patch chord *** Travel Equipment *** I expect my students to have a guitar and amp if they are playing electric. Picks, strap, capo, and a music stand are also recommended. I also like students to have a blank tablature book as well as any other book they want to work out of. I like students to pick out music they want to play and bringing it to class, this is only a preference not a need. I have my bag of sheet music and books I bringing to every lesson. *** Specialties *** I specialize in jazz, folk, and various forms of rock and blues. I can help you learn most any thing you would want. I teach begging to advanced flat pick and beginners finger picking. I teach the electric and acoustic guitar. I also teach basic mandolin. My method of teaching is costume tailored yet very formatted. I teach differently to each student except children who I find need more guidance in there learning. With children I put lots of emphasis on learning rhythm correctly and I am rather structured. I also enjoy teaching how to sing and play guitar. Helping people learn songs they can sing with friends and families is a passion of mine. As a teacher my number one priority is to help you enjoy your lessons and meet your musical dreams.

One of the finest good natured musician teacher I had a nice opportunity to meet Trevor in Michigan. He used to conduct lessons for me every week. Trevor is a gentle and kind musician. With his guitar he always amuses me with beautiful tunes and rythm. For me he customized the classes in a top-down fashion, in the sense, i will sugest him the song i would like to learn and he will come up with the chords and details necessary for it. After every class,he painstakingly, writes down the notes in the tabulature and insists me to practice everyday. Many a times he used to extend the time of the classes from 30 minutes to more than 45 minutes till i get a proper hold on the lessons he wanted me to learn. I would strongly suggest Trevor any students/adults who wants to learn guitar in a proper way.
