Hello! I am a freelance percussionist, educator and private teacher based in Sacramento, CA. I received my Bachelor's in Music in Music Education and Percussion Performance from the Sacramento State School of Music and my Master's Degree in Music from the University of Nevada, Reno. I have been performing music since I was 8 years old and started on drums/percussion when I was 12. Over the past 17 years as a percussionist/drummer, I have performed in many settings and styles from classical, world music, jazz, musicals, contemporary, rock, folk, alternative and many others. I began teaching music during my first year in college to a few high schools around the Sacramento area and have continued teaching ever since. Currently, I teach private lessons in percussion as well as assisting high school percussionists at three high schools. As a percussionist, I am able to teach a wide variety of instruments from drum set, snare drum, certain hand drums (feel free to inquire), mallets and many others in the vast percussion family. I have taught many ages and skill levels ranging from elementary school, high school, college students, and even those who have retired from the work force. One of my biggest passions in music has been to teach to those who are striving to learn music or want to develop their musicianship further. My curriculum is based on what you want to learn and we will study at your pace.
