I can't get enough of Music. Whether it be playing Stevie Wonder covers with a funk bank in a college bar, performing solo jazz piano for private events, or staying up till 3 in the morning on a Tuesday trying to figure out a bassline to my newest composition, there is something about Music that gets me fired up every single day. From personal experience, I know that there are many people who have that same passion but lack the practical tools they need. It is my goal to provide students with concepts, frameworks, and practical exercises that will set you on a path headed towards limitless musical exploration. Regardless of the style you are trying to learn, we will focus on core areas of musical development such as: Melodies Bass Lines/Root Movements Chord Movements Scale Patterns/Phrases Putting it all together (Arranging + Improvising) Every day I practice using this framework, even after playing for my whole life. There is always something new to work on, yet it always ties back to these core categories. I will be essentially teaching you how to learn for the rest of your life rather than just teaching you a few tips and tricks. I have a degree in Piano Performance from Auburn University and am currently on staff as an educator. I have released 4 albums and had over 120k streams on Spotify.
