A recent transplant from Los Angeles, California; I have been singing professionally for more than forty years as well as having leading roles in local theatre productions. I have also been assistant director, musical director, choreographer, costumer and writer for many productions from West Side Story to My Fair Lady to Camelot.
I teach ages five and up and love working with singers of any age. I have also conducted summer camps that were theatre workshops for children. I was a school teacher at a Charter school for ten years where I taught music and drama to children from Kindergarten to 12th grade. I have been giving voice lessons for more than twenty-five years.
I tailor my programs based on the needs of my students. I have worked with children and adults who told me "I cannot sing" and I have shown them that, once you understand how your voice works, you can do things you never dreamed you could do. I will work hard to help anyone who has the love and determination to sing and the desire to improve.
Students I have worked with have won competitions and even been accepted into AMDA in New York.
*** Lesson Details ***
The voice is an instrument and, like any instrument, you have to know all of its parts and how it works in order to get the most out of it. I teach my students how to properly use their voice without damaging their vocal chords. My students will learn how to correctly use the muscles surrounding the diaphragm; how to use dynamics; how to project; how to build up their lung capacity; proper breathing and breath control; how to sing in a clear and articulate manner; showmanship/stage presence; how to develop their natural ear for music; and how to sing different genres of music.
My style and technique has been developed over many years of practical experience and learning from instructors and entertainers who work in the entertainment industry. My method of teaching is entirely my own and I have had a lot of success with it. I expect my students to work hard and be dedicated but I try to make the lessons, not just instructional, but fun.
No worries about how to get to your lesson, or getting stuck in traffic and missing part of a lesson. You pick the space, set up your webcam on your computer/laptop and reserve your time. The thing I love is my students ability to record their lessons, or just a section of the lesson, and refer back to it as often as needed. This combined with my website voicelessonsbytina.com where I leave notes and materials for my students, allow me to offer a program that works well for students of all ages!

Shelbie is so excited. Can not wait to next lesson
I absolutely loved my first class with Tina. I am very excited to continue voice lessons with her.
Tina was fabulous! Incredibly knowledgeable and attentive, my daughter is so excited to learn and train with Tina.
She is very patient and very informative...
Tina is extremely approachable, unassuming and welcoming. Her concepts are easy to understand and she is a pleasure to be around. I'm enjoying my adult Broadway lessons very much and she's helping me prepare for an upcoming audition.
Very knowledgeable and patient. Overall wonderful experience!
Love her style. Makes you feel comfortable from the start. Knowledgeable lady!
Ms. Tina is very educated and professional.
I am having a great time learning from her.
Tina gives very clear, precise instruction with modeling and practice. She lets you know what your goals are and how you are going to work toward them, and follows up the lesson with a written recap of everything you went over. The only thing that I am sorry about is that I did not record everything we practiced. She was more than happy to let me record whatever I needed, but I only recorded one thing and I already forgot the other two things! Anyway, I am happy with the instruction. :)Show More
Love Tina! Took some lessons to improve my ability to project my voice. Only thing I would add is maybe an air purifier in the lesson room for ventilation. Thank you very much!
Great first lesson. I look forward to continuing the journey.
Tina is amazing. So skilled, knowledgeable and patient. My daughter was nervous about the lessons and she had her call her personally so she could speak with her. I am so happy to have her teaching my daughter.
Tina is an excellent teacher and my son is enjoying his lessons very much

Kid friendly and enthusiastic teacher. My daughter enjoys enhancing her singing with Tina
A fantastic teacher, my daughter has learned so much. She loves Tina, nice professional lady with so much talent. Thank you Tina!!!
Tina is the best voice coach. She is very professional but friendly at the same time. Somehow my daughter(8 years old) clicked with her and loved singing with her! Tina successfully prepared my daughter for the Talent Show quickly even though the date was imminent. My daughter is currently taking a break from singing until her school is over. I highly recommend Tina to anyone who has a child or teenager as she is very patient and fun to sing with!Show More
Ms. Tina is the best singing teacher in the High Desert! My daughter loves coming to her lessons, and has vastly improved. She has had 3 other singing teachers prior, but they did not teach breathing and vocal techniques. Ms. Tina coaches and critiques without being overly critical. She challenges my daughter with different genres of music, which has helped her not only widen her interests in music, but also improved her vocal abilities tremendously.
So if you're looking to sing better just for fun or for a competition, Ms. Tina will help get you there!
Best Vocal Teacher Ever!!
Ms tina is an excellent vocal coach, her ability to cover the most important aspects of vocal instruction is very impressive. My experience with her has been extremely beneficial. I had been singing 5 plus years and after taking vocal lessons with Ms.Tina I realized I was singing the wrong way and damaging my vocal cords. After working with Ms tina for a little over 1 month I was able to identify correct breathing tecniques, pronunciation, as well as being able to stay on key. Ms tina is extremely professional, patient, reliable and very passionate about helping her student's reach their goals and aspirations in music.
Any direction that my signing career goes, I would love to keep her as a vocal coach!
Our Daughter has not stopped glowing after placing 2nd in a local talent competition! Tina helped bring the personality and confidence out of our Daughter. She is patient, understanding and knowledgeable. Our Daughter looks forward to every lesson and learns more each time. Thank you Tina for all you have done...you are a hidden gem of the desert!

I can now say that my life has 2 parts: life before Tina and life after Tina. After I hired her to give voice/signing lessons to my daughter, I have seen a 100% increase in her knowledge and her skill level. She is definately worth the time and money spent on educating my daughter. Her home studio is very professionally set up for education. The instructor has more than 20 years of experience in music. She is worth twice what I paid!
Tina was very accomodating and sounds like she has a great knowledge with voice training lessons. I would recommend her to any others who are in this area.A very likeable person.

I began acting in community theatre when I was seventeen years old. It is something that I am absolutely passionate about. I have been fortunate enough to play some of the characters that I love; Nellie Forbush in "South Pacific"; Anita in "West Side Story"; Eliza Dolittle in "My Fair Lady" and Guinevere in "Camelot," to name a few. I have also been in two independent films.
I will be teaching two group lessons, one on Monday nights from 6:00-7:00 pm and one on Tuesday nights 7:00-8:00 pm. Monday nights will be for children and Tuesday nights for adults. I will be welcoming up to five students in each class. During my classes we will learn different acting techniques, among them improv and Stanislavski's Method.
My 30+ years of experience in community theatre and what I have learned from teachers and other actors is what I look forward to passing on to those who are as passionate about acting as I am.
