Euphonium with Tim W.

I have been studying and playing music since I discovered as a young child that I really enjoyed making music, all kinds of music. I played piano first, and studied throughout high school, and I also began exploring my voice and singing in numerous groups in and out of school. I began playing an instrument in grade 5, and I quickly became a pretty good player in high school. I played the euphonium, which is still my primary instrument and excelled in many ensembles and honor groups until graduating. I decided to major in music education in college, so I learned all the band and orchestra instruments and how to teach them. I also kept playing the piano and singing in choirs, which I continue to this day. I began teaching music in a small town, where I had to do everything that had to do with instrumental music in the school and the community. I love teaching and working with students, and have been involved as an educator or arts administrator for over 30 years. I eventually went back to school and earned Masters and Doctoral degrees in music, which opened up many more opportunities for teaching. I have taught in large and small high schools, suburban areas, public universities and small colleges. I make music every day, and I continue to make it a major part of my life. I can't wait to share my love of music with you!
