Experienced in bassoon and clarinet as well as other band instruments. Beginning band to high school students welcome. Focus on long tone exercises, scales, articulation, and more. Lessons are customized and student led. Students will learn about rhythm, melody, form, and other musical skills as well as instrument skills.

About Taylor S.

Hi! My name is Taylor Suntken. I am a current music education major graduating in the fall from Grand View University.

My primary instrument is bassoon. I have played bassoon for 9 years and have experience in making reeds. My secondary instruments are clarinet and trombone which I have played on and off for the last few years. I also can play and teach the other primary band instruments.

Currently, I play in the Grand View University Wind Ensemble. I also am observing and teaching in Des Moines as I finish out my schooling. When teaching, I focus on tone and rhythmic accuracy as well as articulation and musical literacy.
