- Teaching since:
The daughter of immigrants, I was born and raised in Lancaster, PA by two Vietnamese refugees. My experience living in the intersection of multiple cultures instilled a deep appreciation for learning, as education was the largest force driving our family's assimilation into American society and understanding of its rich and diverse culture. Growing up between dueling home-school cultures inspired me to pursue a career in education, using the commonality of music and art to bridge both cultural and social gaps between students of all backgrounds.
I am an active educator and performer in the Greater Philadelphia Area, focusing my work on underserved communities and populations. I teach classroom music at the Penn Alexander School in West Philadelphia, and have worked with many Philadelphia-area organizations such as Temple Unversity Community Music Scholars Program, Philadelphia Music Alliance for Youth, and Play On Philly. I strive to provide each child with the highest quality music education, partnering with various non-profit and community organizations to enhance my teaching.
