All of my lessons are currently online only. Scheduling: I currently teach Mondays-Thursdays. If you would like to book lessons at a time that is not shown in TakeLessons, please send me a message with your requested time and I can check my schedule to see if we can find a time that works for you. About Me: I'm a video game composer who loves working with students of any age and skill level, whether they are beginning music for the first time or have been a musician for years. Getting people started composing or playing piano and watching them discover that they have a lot to say through music, is such a joy of mine. I tailor each lesson to specifically fit the student’s skills and interests, making sure that they are not only progressing but enjoying the process of making music. You set the pace. I encourage students to use whatever music software they have available and are comfortable with, and help them become proficient. I love that I get to do different things each lesson: one lesson we'll analyze Taylor Swift, the next we'll be compositing an 8bit video game track, after that I'll have a lesson where we'll discuss orchestration techniques and the following will be working on a beautiful piano composition! My students have gone on to record their music in the Netherlands, write a musical that was performed at their college, write a song for their middle school talent show, record an album, score a video game, put on a piano recital for their friends and family, score a short film, get accepted into a film scoring graduate school - and much more. With me, students can learn: • Piano • Composition (any style: classical, pop, jazz – you name it, we can do it!) • Composing for film, T.V., and video games • How to use music composition software (Logic, Digital Performer, Cubase, Studio One, Pro Tools, Ableton, FL Studio, Cakewalk, Reaper, etc.) • fundamentals of music theory • fundamentals of ear training • Songwriting • Music Production • How to use music notation software (write out your parts, charts, lead sheets, etc. so that others can play your original compositions) Students can expect to have a lot of fun learning with me - learning to play pop songs on piano or writing your own! How Do Online Lessons Work? Please check out my profile photos for photo examples. I have an overhead camera so that I can show fingerings and piano hand positions, screen and audio sharing, a virtual whiteboard, and other tools that have helped me make online learning easy, engaging and fun. Cancellation Policy: Sometimes things come up - I understand! I ask that you give me at least 24 hours' notice before your lesson time and we can reschedule the lesson (you’ll get to keep your credit for that lesson). If not, or for no-shows, the lesson will be marked “missed” (you’ll lose a lesson credit). *If you miss 3 lessons in a row, another student may take your reoccurring time slot and we’ll need to find a new time. Please feel free to send me a message with any questions, I'm looking forward to helping you achieve your musical goals! -Taylor [Updated September 2022]

Taylor was very supportive, patient and flexible instructor. She consistently comes up with creative and fun lesson plans to keep the student engaged. Her consistency in communication and consciousness of student wellbeing was always really reassuring and she was always willing to meet me wherever I was at in a particular skill. So no matter where you are in your musical journey I am sure that Taylor can be of assistance, perhaps in ways you may not expect (that certainly was the case for me). All in all, Taylor comes highly recommended.
We have had 3 lessons with Taylor so far. She teaches well, communicative, engaging and helpful.
Third lesson down and looking forward to continuing on. Great personality and fantastic teacher
