Award winning Clarinetist, Sydney Lusby, has performed in renowned venues
around the United States including Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, Juilliard’s
Peter Jay Sharp Theater, and the Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas, Texas.
She was a 2nd place winner in the American Protege International Competition,
resulting in a performance in Carnegie Hall. Her chamber ensemble was selected
to play in Juilliard's Chamberfest with the guidance of coaches Carol Wincenc and
Nancy Allen. The New York City Ballet invited Sydney to record a video for the
Here/Now Series that continues to be used for promotional purposes. For her
Junior and Senior years of high school, Sydney attended Interlochen Arts Academy
High School. She graduated in 2015, receiving the school’s Fine Arts Award. As
a student at Interlochen, she performed in a wide variety of ensembles including
chamber groups and orchestra. While at Interlochen, Sydney studied clarinet with
Alexander Fiterstein and Emil Khudyev. sydney has a Bachelor of
Music Degree from The Juilliard School in New York City. She studied with Anthony McGill and Jon Manasse. In her free time, Sydney enjoys yoga and being outdoors.

Hello! I'm so happy you have come to this page. I'll tell you a little bit about myself below:
Sydney Lusby is a Graduate of both Interlochen Arts Academy High School and The Juilliard School. She graduated in the spring of 2015 and 2019. Sydney was honored with the selective Fine Arts award in Clarinet upon Graduation.
While attending Interlochen, Sydney studied clarinet with Mr. Alexander
Fiterstein and Mr. Emil Khudyev. In 2012, 2014, and 2015 Sydney won the West
Texas A&M concerto competition (playing Weber's Concertino, Weber’s Concerto No. 2, and Messager's Solo De Concours). In 2015, Sydney placed 2nd in the American Protege International competition, winning an opportunity to perform at a recital in Carnegie Hall. In the winter of 2015, Sydneys chamber ensemble was selected to play in Juilliard's Chamberfest with the guidance of coaches Carol Wincenc and Nancy Allen. In 2017, Sydney recorded a promotional video for the New York City Ballet’s Here/Now Series. Sydney has performed in renowned venues, including Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, Peter Jay Sharp Theater, Brevard Music Center, and the Meyerson Symphony Center. She has been fortunate to work with world class teachers including Yehuda Gilad, Mark Nuccio, Pascual Martinez-Forteza, Joaquin Valdepeñas, Ricardo Morales, Richie Hawley, Anthony McGill, Charles Neidich, Ixi Chen, Andre Moisan, J. Lawrie Bloom, and Steve Cohen.
