I am a Chicago-based performer and music teacher of seven years. I completed my Bachelor of Music in Viola Performance from Roosevelt University in 2018, and have taught violin and viola in group and private lessons to children and adults of all ages! My teaching is informed by Suzuki pedagogy. I believe that musical ability is not an innate talent, but a skill that can be developed and nurtured. I aim to create a supportive and encouraging learning space to foster a love of music in all my students. My lessons are individualized based on the unique needs and goals of each student. I teach a variety of styles, as well as technique, theory, and more!

Sydney was great with my 6 yo daughter. She taught some introductory essentials in a way that was easy for a young learner to relate to and remember.

So very, very patient with little kids. She leaves us with notes so we know exactly what to practice each time. It really helps us stay on track in between lessons. I can easily recommend Sydney for anyone (at any age) that wants to learn violin.
