I am a professional musician and music educator with 37 years of highly successful experience in teaching students of all abilities (beginners to advanced level performers), and all ages (young children to adults)! I have an undergraduate music education and trumpet performance degree from Concordia College - Moorhead, and a Masters in Music Education degree from the University of Minnesota. Students can expect to improve week to week in their instrumental technique and musical skills. Every student is unique, and I meet students where they are at, and help them to achieve their goals (and often exceed their expectations of what they thought was possible!) and enjoy the process! I teach students of all different ages and experience levels, and special needs students. I teach students to read music, pursue classical or jazz excellence, help them to achieve higher levels of performance excellence, sharing all that I have learned during my many years of experience as a teacher, performer and life-long learner in the wonderful world of music (aligned with the goals and preferences of the student). My experience as a teacher includes 20 years as a Band Director at Rosemount HS, 12 years as Band Director at Eden Prairie HS, and several years as a Beginner Band Director in the Rosemount/Apple Valley/Eagan school district. I look forward to meeting you and helping you to grow as a successful and happy musician!

Steve is a great trumpet teacher. He picked fun songs to learn as well as took the time to explain things and focus on where to improve.
