Flute with Stefanie P.

My name is Stefanie Proulx and I am a flutist in the New York City area, specializing mainly in contemporary music. I recently graduated with a masters in flute performance from SUNY Purchase, and am continuing my studies at the Manhattan School of Music in the Contemporary Performance Program. I have been playing flute for 14 years, and have experience teaching elementary aged students, and amateur adult flutists. I have much experience playing piccolo, as well as alto and bass flutes. I am one half of a flute duo that aims to promote accessibility to audiences who may or may not have had previous exposure to music of all genres. We recently formed a festival in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico, for beginner and intermediate flutists, teaching them contemporary techniques and allowing them to play new and not often played works. I am looking for students in the five boroughs, mainly Manhattan, who are interested in scheduling lessons with me around my class schedule at the Manhattan School of Music. I will have availability Monday through Friday, and am more than willing to work with you to find the most convenient time. Lessons will be customized to you or your child's needs and interests. I hope to share my knowledge and experience to both improve your skills as well as foster a love and appreciation for music and playing the flute!
