I teach students on an individual level according to what they want to accomplish. Each lesson is custom tailored to fit their objective. Mastering the instrument and understanding music theory are two important subjects that I offer. Along with that, a student can focus on any musical style from classical to jazz plus other important aspects like composing, reading and recording music.
I am willing to share my professional experience with any student who wants to become a player!

My son enjoys his music lessons with Jonathan, who is infinitely patient teaching what can be a challenging instrument. My son responds well to Jonathan's instruction, and he appreciates having access to a professional performer as a teacher. Jonathan encourages my son to learn a variety of music, including both challenging classical pieces and more recognizable popular and jazz pieces, which helps to sustain his interest in the lessons.+ Read More

Jazmin loved her lesson with Jonathon, and I am so glad he recognizes her talent and can move her along at the appropriate speed.
Great start. Enjoyed the first lesson.
Jonathan is an excellent teacher and very enjoyable to be with. The environment is positive, instructional and after a few lessons has been rewarding and productive. I look forward to continuing weekly songwriting sessions in his comfortable home.
I like the way he walks around and expresses emotion in his music teaching.
Jonathan is a top notch, well rounded professional musician who is able to use his years of experience to quickly hone in on a students needs so that he can help guide them to the next level.
Jonathan is a great teacher! He is very knowledgeable and had taught me more than I ever expected to learn in such a short time. It is such an honor to learn from him!
Jonathan is a great teacher, and I would definitely recommend him!
Jonathan is very informative, I like the way he explains everything in detail. This is my first time singing and Jonathan makes me feel comfortable to sing out loud.
He is GREAT at making me understand theory, which I never have. He's also exciting and challenging in learning how to look at music and anticipate/understand where it's going versus my habit of only looking one note ahead at a time. I wish he was a little more interested in teaching classical music, but I also understand that the new stuff I am learning from him will greatly improve my playing of that.+ Read More

Teacher is very good.
Having Jonathan as my tutor has been very satisfying. He is a talented musician and an excellent teacher. He is skilled at patiently communicating difficult concepts to those new to music. He made me feel more confident about my strong points while gradually moving me out of my comfort zone. In this way, I learned a great deal more than expected. I left the sessions with a richer understanding and appreciation of chord progressions, tonality, interpretation. I would highly recommend Jonathan to anyone.
Jonathan is a professional! He is very knowledgeable and provides great insight to helping me learn how to play Jazz.
He is always helpful should I need to analyze a chart for the church band, I play with.
Jonathan is in highest level of musicians. He has all the all the skillls at the highest level- rhythm, pitch, memory, technique, repertoire, knowledge, an amazing sight-reader and/or improviser, and two more qualities often not associated gifed artists- he is kind and humble. I would HIGHLY recomend him as a teacher of piano, trumpet, theory, ear-training, and composition. E.L.
This instructor worked with my son on the piano. He made it "fun" for my child by working on music my son enjoyed. He flourished under the instructor's tutelage and loves playing the piano. He quit the lessons only because he wants to learn how to play guitar!
My hasband and I are both near tone deaf, and we wanted our son to get music lessons. Jonathan has been working with our now 6yr old for the past 1 yr and the progress that he has made is unbelievable! He has tremendous amount of patience and can relate to a child as well as he can to the parents. Our son truly enjoys his lessons and I believe the caliber of the teacher has a lot to do with developing this interest.
Good knowledge about music and inspire student to learn.
The Wonderful Music Teacher
My son started to learn piano when he was almost five. He also started to learn cello about 2 years ago. He was doing pretty well on both instruments. But, about year ago, he was getting frustrate when he was taking lesson. He didn't want to practice at home too. I thought he needed to have a higher lever guy teacher to guide him. Fortunately I found Mr. Greenberg. The first lesson was great! My son loved him, loved the way he teaches. Every week, he is more than happy to go to the lesson. Jonathan teaches him piano and cello. Every lesson is about 90 minutes, but my ten year old told me that he doesn't feel long at all. Mr. Greenberg is very talented on music, he plays a lot of different instruments, that's really inspiring my son. Less than a year he seems grow a lot on music.
I always believe that a good teacher can keep the student interested in learning. Mr. Greenberg is a wonderful music teacher for any one interested in learning music.
Jonathan is an excellent piano teacher
Jonathan has been teaching piano to my adolescent son for the past several years. He is highly knowledgeable about music as well as a talented musician; he brings much more to his lessons than the typical teacher. In addition, he always meets my son where he is in terms of interests, preferences and predilections - he has kept my son moving forward with his musical pursuits where others have failed! Lastly, he is a warm, kind person as well as flexible and understanding. I would recommend him to anyone!
So glad to have Jonathan as my teacher
I am a busy professional in my 50s that wanted to learn how to play the electric bass. After searching the web for in home lessons I found Jonathan Greenberg.
Jonathan is an absolute professional with the ability to quickly connect with a student at their level. I have already learned an amazing amount in 4 weeks and have confidence that Jonathan will have me playing at a high level in a very short time period.
He gives me "homework" and he follows up to determine if I am staying with it.
A great mannerism and teaching style make Jonathan a teacher well worth asking for.
