About Soonbee K.

Hi everyone! My name is Soonbee Kwon, and I am a cellist, pianist, violinist, and violist. I am going to college at University of Mass. Boston, majoring with a Bachelors of Psychology and Music, specifically music in cello.
As a musician who has experienced times without a private teacher, I can help and ensure any student to be taught foundational techniques to unleash their unique expression and performance. I can help any student to sing with confidence, articulation, and passion!
I teach cello and piano students of all different ages and experience levels. I played and studied classical piano for 9 years, and contemporary keyboard for 4 years. I can teach students to read music and pursue classical excellence, to learn how to play contemporary music using chord sheets, or both depending on the goals and preference of the student.
As being a full time student, I am analyzing upon my research project on the developing and limiting factors of the 4th Industrial Revolution technologies on music performance and production, ultimately creating a interactive activity that would serve the purpose to see how music technology can impact orchestra classrooms and in music stores like Yamaha. I love to assist students who want to become cohesive, dynamic music researchers!
Within music, my personal passions are all a variety -- from Korean Rhythm and Blues, to Hip Hop Rap, and to slow instrumental music, I firmly believe that just a small heart and essential basis of technique is key to any and every genre and style of music. I look forward to meeting you and helping you to become the best musician!
