    Listen Understand and enjoy Flamenco

Want to learn to dance flamenco, sing or play palmas? Experienced teacher and performer of 15 years, specializing in the beginner/intermediate and advance flamenco students. All ages welcome Interested in learning to do your own solo? I will help you build a solid foundation and technique while tailoring to your personal tastes and goals. I had studied in spain and learned how to teach authentic flamenco without having to be from spain to understand it. I make the learning experience fun, and exciting. I also sing flamenco witch it is very important element, so I teach how the dance and the song go hand in hand with each other.

    About Sol K.

Hola! My name is Sol. I am a dancer and educator. I specialize in teaching conversational Spanish and Flamenco. I am a native Spanish speaker. Originally from Argentina I moved to New York City in 2000. I now work for several dance companies/organizations, perform, and teach dance and spanish to children and adults. As a Teaching Artist I aim to help my students become more comfortable whether it's with learning Spanish or learning to dance Flamenco. As a Flamenco dancer I had performed at illustrious venues including Lincoln Center, Town Hall, Symphony Space, The New Victory, the Joyce and the Metropolitan Opera. In 2007, she founded Flamenco y Sol Flamenco Company, producing traditional flamenco performances and workshops. In addition to performing, directing and choreographing, I work as a teaching artist conducting residencies with Flamenco Vivo, Alvin Ailey, Young Audiences and Brooklyn Arts Council. I teach at Mark Morris Dance Center and perform regularly at the NYC tablaos.

Sol is a VERY gifted teacher—I have studied with her for years and feel so fortunate to have had her expert instruction. She pays attention to every aspect of the dance and makes sure you get the basics while pushing you to do more. I love her choreography. She is also an extremely talented dancer.

Sol is such an amazing teacher, her classes are passionate, fun and of course educational. She also gives students the opportunity to perform with live musicians and even if you are a beginner, you feel like you are already a flamenco dancer. She is the best teacher in New York.

Sol is a fabulous, top-notch instructor. She is very passionate about the dance and has the ability to make one feel as if they must start taking classes once they see her perform.
