I was born in Kharkov, Ukraine, started my musical education at the Special Music School for gifted children at age 6. I continued my studies at the famed Leningrad ( now St. Petersburg ) conservatory in Russia, earning MA in piano performance & pedagogy with honors & special certificate to give solo recitals. I used to perform & teach in Russia, Ukraine, Israel and for 21 years already in the USA. I taught piano at the University of MN, Duluth, Musicapolis of The Schubert Club, University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Schmitt Music, and maintaining a private studio in this country since 1994. I own beautiful Steinway grand, and you'll be playing on it during your lessons! I am fanny, very attentive to each student's unique needs. I love what I do!

Shulamit is a kind, fun, and knowledgable teacher as well as a highly experienced pianist. She picks up on exactly the things that are holding you back and shows you the way to fix them. Even after a couple of lessons I have noticed a huge difference between practicing for months on my own versus working on the techniques Shulamit has taught me. We talked about what my goals are, what kind of pieces I want to play, and created a path to get there. We worked through etudes to restore strength and speed, as well as classical pieces I wanted to learn. I am coming back to playing piano after a decade-long hiatus, and I did not expect to see such a noticeable improvement in my skills in such a short time. Daily practicing homework never felt this fun and rewarding before. Very happy with my teacher choice and highly recommend Shulamit to both beginners (you will learn things the right way from the start) and relapsing adult piano players like myself.

It is a real pleasure to write a review for Ms. Maneev. Ms. Maneev was our daughter’s piano teacher for the past two years and has been a true source of inspiration for her. After starting to receive lessons from Ms Maneev, our daughter’s playing skills and musicianship began to progress at a much faster pace, which was not even conceivable to us while she was working with her earlier piano instructor. Ms. Maneev is a great piano player with a wonderful personality, and an outstanding pedagogue and teacher. We are grateful to Ms. Maneev for her or her uncompromising approach, for her attention to detail, and for inspiring our daughter. We could not recommend Ms. Maneev more highly - anyone who has Ms. Maneev as a music and piano teacher should consider himself lucky!

My two sons both studied with Shulamit over the course of 5 years. As a teacher, Shulamit was patient yet motivating. She had a lively personality that both of my sons responded to. She remained true to her training and philosophy of teaching, yet was flexible when my sons interest was veering away from classical music. Shulamit knew that she was not going to become a different teacher but she incorporated some popular music into lessons to try and meet him where he was. As the mother of the student, I have always enjoyed my contact with Shulamit and have been privileged to be audience to her magnificent playing.
